Bill,
This is a blue cat that I caught using your bait. It is a lake record on Eagle Mountain lake in Fort Worth Texas. It weighed 26 lbs. and was 35 inches long and 24 in girth. I registered it with the Texas Parks and Wildlife.

TIPS ON USING BILL'S CATFISH BAIT

For best results use small single or treble sponge hook and slip sinker.   Soak sponge and squeeze out excess water.   Fill sponge with bait by pushing into jar with a stick.

After getting bait on hook, dip bait into water for 1 second. This will help gel the bait, which will prevent bait loss.

A couple of chumming techniques sure to attract the catfish:

Drift fishing - put Bill's Catfish Bait in a perforated minnow bucket while drift fishing.
Bank or stationary fishing - spoon several spoonfuls into the water surrounding your fishing location.

RIVER FISHING TIPS

Submitted by: cobbster...
I'm an avid river fisherman, and it always aggravates me each time the old river rises (floods), it changes all my fishing spots. I like fishing next to snags, but all the trees in the snags don't have any flexible limbs to tie lines, so I had an idea.

I had a 10 foot piece of 1 inch PVC waterline, drilled two 5/32 holes on each end, approx. 3 inches apart. Then I cut it in half, then I drill a single hole on the other end. You will tie your line through this hole. Then all you will need is a hammer and some 16 p. nails. If the tree you want to fish doesn't have any flexible branches nail your portable branch on, these are trees that are in the water. It is very tough and will last a long time.

You can take an indelible marker and write your name or tag your line. Our rivers are a precious resource. If you set lines out, or you jug keep track of your gear, DONT SET LINES OUT AND LEAVE THEM! This weekend I snagged someone's line, the trot had no tags and had 6 dead cats on it. It takes a really unsportsman-like person to do that.

TIPS FOR USING AS AN ADD-ON

Submitted by: Roger B.
I tried Bills Catfish Bait (bought at Fisherman's supply on I-30, in Garland, Tx.) for the first time about a year ago and I have gotten hooked on it . BUT when you use it as an add on it works wonders. I personally prefer to catch live shad, cut off the head, and dip it in Bills Catfish Bait. This increases the amount of hits greatly.
